[Plugin: Front-end Editor] Testing 1.8a4 (bug?)

Hello scribu,

just wanted to let you know that I’m testing the last developement version (1.8a4) but now the plugin doesn’t allow to “edit”… If i double-click an area the editor comes up, but with a BLANK editable area, so no editing is possible at all! I’ve tried with both Firefox and Chrome.

BTW i love the pop-up and the new buttons to save or cancel action.

…I forgot to tell you that it only happens in text widgets… it seems that the articles content get edited well!

Ops! we wrote at the same time… 🙂

It happens with text widgets and yes, I’m logged in as admin.

It’s not my case… I’m definitely logged in as Administrator.

It was a javascript error. Should be fixed now. Dev version is 1.8a5.

Where do you get the developer version? The plugin isn’t outputting anything in my WP 3.0 beta 1 and I do have wp_footer(); called.

The development version can usually be found here:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/front-end-editor/download/

(it’s currently identical to the stable version: 1.8)

Thanks. Well, could be you’re waiting for 3.0 final but it’s not working with 3.0 beta 1 and the 2010 standard theme. Out of the box at least 🙂

Let me know if I can help bug-test it in some way.

Well, that’s my main testing environment, and it’s working. 😛

So you don’t see the tooltips or the yellow hover? Check the settings.

It’s not even loading the plugin, can’t see anything fee related in the source-code at all. So I’m guessing it’s something with my install. Any way I can check whether wp_footer(); is working properly?

Add this in functions.php:
```
function testing() {
  echo 'wp_footer() is working';
}
add_action('wp_footer', 'testing');
```
…but I don’t think it’s that. Try disabling all other plugins (if you have any).
