Hi, I received a general email from Paypal with a list of IP addresses that they are using for IPN (Instant Payments Notification). The main text from the email is attached below. My question is, if I have not set any IP address rules in Wordfence, I mean no blocked IP lists, does that mean i can safely ignore this email?

    Thanks for replying 🙂

If you are implementing any Access Control List (ACL) or filters on IP addresses for the IPNs received from PayPal, we request that you add all the aforementioned IP addresses before May 3, 2021.

Doing so will help avoid missing IPNs from PayPal.

Hello @coprob and thanks for reaching out to us!

Paypal typically likes to have these IPs added to the Allowlist. Have you been seeing any blocks from users trying to use Paypal?

You can check for blocks in your Wordfence > Tools > Live Traffic page for these IPs if you wanted to be sure.

    Thanks again!

    Hey @wfadam,

does this mean we have to do something or not?

Woocmerce tells me it has nothing to do with them, if then Wordfence.

    I do not really understand.

I would recommend adding the Paypal IPs that you have to the Wordfence > All Options > Advanced Firewall Options > Allowlisted IP addresses that bypass all rules.

This will allow Paypal’s secure checkout to work correctly without the WAF trying to block its requests.

    Thanks again!
