My site stopped working with the WooCommerce stripe plugin- I’m getting critical site health errors related to REST API and a loopback request error.

To be clear, I’m NOT a developer, but my hosting can’t figure it out and all my settings are correct. Has anyone experienced this? Desperate to get this working again. It happens when a customer is trying to check out and submit final payment.

The log error message says: “cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10005 milliseconds with 0 out of 0 bytes received”

Earlier the message I received from a customer said that the error message on their screen after trying to purchase said: “there was a problem connecting to the Stripe API endpoint”.

  • Hi @lindsaymay

The most common culprit for this is hosting configuration or a WordPress security/firewall plugin. We’ve seen some cases where the cURL version on the server being outdated caused an issue like this. I would advise you to check with your host.

Additionally, I’d recommend taking a look at this guide.

I also recommend doing a conflict test to see if that helps. We have the steps here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/
