Set “prices inclusive of tax” > on front end, tax is added on top
-
Hi in WooCommerce > Settings > Tax, we have:
“Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax.”
On the front end we have a product selling for $4.55, which is the price inclusive of tax.
However, its price is displayed as $5.00, which is $4.55 + 10%.
So our inclusive setting has been effectively been changed to a
“No, I will enter prices exclusive of tax”
(which is not what we set).Help appreciated.

Hi @srd75,
Just to take a closer look at your setup, could you please share with us a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
Thanks.
Thanks for the quick response @abwaita; here it is:

Yui. Reason: some possibly sensitive data removed
Thanks for the SSR @srd75.
In the report, I see that you have a caching plugin:
LiteSpeed Cache: by LiteSpeed Technologies – 3.6.4As a first step, kindly disable the plugin and clear your browser’s cache then check whether the correct prices are shown on your shop page.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks.
Hi @abwaita,
Can you please delete the db info from the SSR?
Disabling LiteSpeed Cache and clearing the browser cache did not change the price away from $5.
Cheers.
I also note that even with Tax turned off, all the product prices are permanently increased by 10% in the back end.

Hi @srd75,
Can you please delete the db info from the SSR?
Only moderators can do this. Kindly contact a moderator via the Report this topic section on the right and be sure to give a reason for the request. You can find more details here: https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#contacting-the-moderators
Disabling LiteSpeed Cache and clearing the browser cache did not change the price away from $5.
From here, kindly check with your host and ask whether they have enabled server-side caching. If they have, you may request them to disable it as well and then test.
I also note that even with Tax turned off, all the product prices are permanently increased by 10% in the back end.
For added visibility on our end, is it possible to share with us the following:
- A screenshot of the WooCommerce → Settings → Tax page
- A link to one of your products
- A screenshot of the above product’s price as set in the Product data section
I recommend https://snipboard.io for sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in this chat. It works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Thanks.
Hi @abwaita
The web host does not cache the website.
Here is the front end product. Before turning on tax, this product’s price was $4.55.
When I had enabled “Enable tax rates and calculations”, I set prices to be inclusive of tax and this is the tax rate I set.
Cheers,
SteveThanks for the screenshots.
The web host does not cache the website.
Thanks for checking. I hope that you were able to confirm directly with them. This is because the SSR shows:
Server Info: LiteSpeed
On the server’s site, one of the features advertised is the caching ability.I also meant to ask, did you purge all cache when deactivating the LiteSpeed plugin?
Here’s an article on how to purge the cache: https://www.a2hosting.com/kb/a2-hosting-products/turbo-web-hosting/clearing-the-litespeed-cache
You can go through the steps outlined there and then check the prices again.
The persistence of historical prices on the product pages is highly suggestive that some sort of caching is still occurring.
Let’s see how it goes when you try the above.
Thanks.
Yes I did Purge All before.
I’ve done that again, plus cleared the LiteSpeed Cache in cPanel, then disabled LiteSpeed Cache in WordPress, and the example item’s price is still $5.
LiteSpeed Cache does not cache backend prices.
Where do we go from here?
Hi @srd75,
Thanks for keeping the thread up.
Just a small check, when you switch to the Storefront theme and deactivate all plugins apart from WooCommerce, does the issue persist?
* To avoid affecting your customers, you may want to do this on a test/staging site. If you don’t have one already, your hosting company might offer one as part of your package. Alternatively, you can use a free plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/Also, is it possible to share the full WooCommerce → Settings → Tax page and a screenshot of the tax rates you’ve set up? Trying to see if the issue can be reproduced on a test site, thus a picture of these settings would be helpful.
Thanks.
Since it’s been a while since we last heard back from you, I’m going to mark this thread resolved.
Hopefully, you were able to find a solution to your problem! If you have further questions, please feel free to open a new topic.
Cheers! 🙂`
Because of the problem with the tax being added on top of the product prices, we turned “Enable taxes” off.
However, after clearing the LiteSpeed Cache, the extra 10% remained on the front end.
If I temporary turn on “Enable taxes”, I see the following in the Taxes tab:

Hi @srd75,
Thanks for your response. Just to follow up, when the taxes are turned off, are the product price on the back end the same as those on the front end?
If the prices do not match, it might be that you have some more caching going on. You could purge all cache on Litespeed and consult with your host to check whether they have server-side caching so that they can disable it for you.
I hope this helps.
Hi @abwaita,
With taxes turned off, the product price on the back end the same as those on the front end.
Both prices are 20% higher than before originally turning taxes on.
Cheers,
Steve -
