I’m not a developer and have zero ideas about what to do to fix this issue. We’re getting this error:

fatal error: can’t use function return value in write context in /home1/gillstar/public_html/tradingwithvenus.com/wp-content/plugins/official-facebook-pixel/core/facebookwordpressoptions.php on line 279

Is the fix as simple as restoring a backup or is there something else that needs to happen?

Access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/plugins/ and delete the whole /official-facebook-pixel/ directory there.

This will remove the plugin causing the problem and restore your site.

Next, I recommend reporting the issue at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/official-facebook-pixel/ so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
