Please help! I need to know how to get videos from my computer to my WP blog. I’m using a self-hosted WP site.

I created a video using Camtasia Studio (for PC). It created a folder with files in it. Among these files, the one I want to upload to WP is a .flv video, which is about 10MB in size.

I tried uploading the video on the back-end via Upload New Media, but WP tells me that the file is too big. I don’t see why that matters since I’m using a self-hosted WP site.

Okay so how on earth do I embed my video to WP. FYI: My .flv video also includes closed captions.

Please help! I really need to know this.

  • Hi there!

Since I never upload large amounts of media to my WordPress much less streaming media, I searched around the forums to see if other users might have had experiences with your same issue.

    Please take a look HERE.

Maybe this is the same issue and maybe this is an issue you need to talk to your host about – the max size per WP post?

I think that’s the same problem I’m having. Thanks for all your help dude.

    I fixed my problem.

I contacted my Web host and they helped me resolve the problem. It was pretty easy actually. I had to create a “php.ini” file, and increase the “post_max_size” & “upload_max_filesize” values within the php.ini file.

I know it sounds confusing but if you have a good Web host, they’ll have an easy process for doing this.

@linkaq: Do you mind to send me the html code of “php.ini”?

Hey sorry for the late reply. I’m not sure if that’s a safe thing to do? I’ll ask my Web host if it’s safe. If you want I’ll send you an image of what the code looks like.
