Issues on free.fr web hosting

    Hello,

    I al trying to setup a wordpress site on pagesperso.free.fr free web hosting.
    As it is free, there are many restrictions :
    – no external access (but wordpress.org site for plugins and updates)
    – PHP 5.6 (with removed agressives features versus standard)
    – limited performnces (memory concurent sessions etc…)…
    At the moment file backups works but not sql one which issues following error :
    “mysqli::real_connect(): Too many open links (1)”
    Any trick to help me solving this ?

    You can contact webhosting support with this error message

    mysqli::real_connect(): Too many open links (1)

    But since hosting is FREE, you cant expect much, they will not raise limits for FREE plan. It is recommended to get other hosting or paid plan without inhumane limits.

    Hello @expertimmodelarc
    totally agree with ゆい, you should contact the hoster and ask for support since in these free hosting there are many limitations and ideally best suited for testing purpose only.

    But there is a “workaround” solution might work, you can play around with the lower server resource usage in BakcWPUp (BackWPUp -> settings -> Jobs -> reduce server load -> maximum)
