Is your website running on WP too? Sounds like either your host’s SQL server is down temporarily. Sometimes this is caused by an overload of SQL queries to the database. Can you access your error/server logs from your web host’s dashboard/cpanel? That won’t tell you your CPU load but it may tell you what is trying to query the database. If that is indeed the problem. Could just be a web host issue.

My website is not hosted on WordPress.com so neither is my blog. I’ll try to access the error/server log on my cpanel to see if that shows what might be causing this problem. It may be OK tomorrow. I hope so. We’ll see. Thanks.
I didn’t say your web site was hosted on WordPress.com, I just asked if it was also running on WordPress, some other CMS or straight HTML. That would explain how you might be able to get to it and not the WordPress blog.

I guess that I misunderstood your question. I thought that you assumed that my blog was running on the WP servers. It isn’t, although I’m using the WP software program to install and configure my blog. I don’t use any CMS program for my website. It is configured with CSS, PHP, and HTML files. I was able to check the error log for my site, and it indicated repeatedly that today that the “file does not exist”. I guess that would be the database file for my blog. I don’t know why it “does not exist”. The username and password are in the wp-config.php file in the blog folder in the basic directory for my website and the blog. This is just a new problem for me, but I can’t spot its cause. I’ve got a trouble message into my host, but I haven’t had any response to that yet. Maybe someway this problem will get fixed tomorrow. I hope so. Thanks.

It is tomorrow, and I still can’t get my blog. Now I get a different message:”The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/profile.php was not found on this server. Additional, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an Error Document to handle the request.” How do I fix this?

All of the files for my website and my blog are in public_html folder and its subdirectories.
you better talk to host, then. There is no reason for them not showing up

I have a trouble ticket with them, but I haven’t received any help and they don’t have phone support. I can’t even get the remote files to be displayed in my FTP program. So I can’t check on their status or reload my WP files. This is a big nuisance!!

I just received word from my host that they are “working” on the problem. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Apparently there isn’t anything that I can do about it. Thanks for your help.
