Hi @mav4k9, this is quite interesting. I am guessing you created a static page named “blog” and then in the WP Settings –> Reading, assigned it as the “Post page”? If not, let me know.
Once a page is assigned as a “Post page”, it no longer functions like a normal page, and that is why it doesn’t show up in the dropdown. But, that is basically the reason I created this plugin in the first place! The original Genesis plugin would not allow you to add a custom link to non-“page” pages. So the solution is to set the widget to “Feature a Custom Link” and provide the direct URL to your blog page. Then add a custom image, title etc.
Let me know if this resolves things for you.
Best,
Nick

Hi,
Yes, that’s exactly what I did, create a static blog page.
How do I set the widget to feature a custom link?
The widget doesn’t have that option.
Thank you!
Can you confirm you are using the “Genesis Featured Page Advanced” widget and not the default one, “Genesis Featured Page”? The default widget provided by the Genesis Framework does not have this option.
In Genesis Featured Page Advanced, if you take a peak at the screenshots of the plugin here on wp.org, you will see the option for “Feature a Custom Link” right below the “Feature a Page” option.
Let me know if that works for you.
Best,
Nick

Hi,
Yes, it was the default widget that came with my theme. I didn’t know there was an advanced option.
I switched it out to the advanced and now it works perfectly!
Thank you so much!!
Great, glad it is working for you!
