It has been tested with WP 5.7, and it is compatible. The plugins “meta” was updated 6 days ago to signify the testing and support of the latest version of WP. You can see this on the plugins page here:
You’ll find “Tested up to: 5.7” in the sidebar.
If you installed Connections before the release of 5.7, you still might see a notice on the plugins settings admin page. That is ok and is informational only and displayed by Connections, not WordPress. When the next update for Connections is released, hopefully soonish, this notification will be removed.
RE: creating entries seems to use the OLD editor, can i use the newer and better Gutenberg blocks?
Presently, there has been little work to allow plugins to use the new post editor on other admin pages. Later this year, the new editor will be extended to the widget admin page and enable full site editing for themes that will support it. Even then, little work has been done to extend to other admin screens. When WP extends broader support to other admin pages, Connections will definitely be updated to the newer architecture. Technically it is possible now, but it much better to wait for this to be properly supported in WP.
RE: can I change things to make it more business like, for example to change biographical information heading o say Business History?
Yes, just about all text in Connections can be changed to pretty much anything you wish. Here’s a link to a FAQ that explains the process in more detail.
