Hello there,
I`ve tested your problem and I could translate the WooCommerce string “Add to Cart”.
It looks like a JavaScript Bug. To debug this, please follow these steps:
* see if you have any javascript errors in the browser console https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors. A print screen could help.
* if you have any security or minification plugins please deactivate them and try again. Some caching plugins also have minification settings that can break javascript code, so for testing purposes please disable any caching as well.
* try and open the website in a different browser just to exclude a browser add-on that might interfere with javascript.
If there`s anything else, please let us know!
Kind Regards,
It appears to be a conflict with Elementor. As soon as I disable it, it shows the Chinese Add to Cart button.
I was under the impression that Translatepress could override this string. I get 2 strings for Add to Cart, one that comes from WooCommerce, and the source of the other is unknown, but it appears in English for the original Chinese version. 4
Any idea about a solution to this? Thanks again for your help!

Hello again,
I think you can try a clear cache and see if this could solve your problem.
Also, you can search into the database to see if that sting is translated there.
Kind Regards,
Cache is 110% not the issue after all the testing I’ve done – cleared it excessively just to be sure 🙂
Any idea what database table this would be in? I tried changing 10 of them just now and none of them worked.
I ran into this issue 5 years ago with WooCommerce Add to Cart button and am surprised I’ve had to spend so many hours dealing with this head-banger. Not your fault of course – just wish a permanent solution was available for such a simple thing.
Hello again,
That seems to be a weird conflict of sorts.
I’m not sure why disabling Elementor would translate the Add to Cart text.
Is the button added using Elementor? Or is it from your theme? Can you test with a different theme, to see if that fixes it?
Kind Regards,
