Help with homepage code please

I’m struggling with a bit of code on my static home page. I am using the Featured Content Gallery plugin and have got that working using the code, but on the page I am unable to get rid of what I think is the most recent post from being displayed underneath it. I just want the gallery to be shown (along with header and sidebar).

Any help is appreciated – I’ve a feeling there is a part I need to remove from above to get this working, but am unsure which part.
