  • Hi williamjones654,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It looks like Advanced Ads did not create your ads.txt. Otherwise, there would be a note about it in the first line:

If you already have an ads.txt, Advanced Ads does not overwrite it. You should see in this case under the ads.txt field on Advanced Ads > Settings a notification about an already existing file.

I would recommend you to remove the ads.txt created manually or with another plugin and manage the ads.txt with Advanced Ads.

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
We have added ads.txt through Advanced Ads. Previously, we have added it through ads.txt manager by 10 up. How much time it will take to update?
    Thanks

    Hi williamjones654,

    Thanks for your reply.

If you have already entered all the entries you want to appear in the ads.txt in the ads.txt field in Advanced Ads > Settings, then the change will take less than a minute.

    To do this:

    • deactivate the ads.txt plugin
    • check if the ads.txt file of the plugin is removed or still accessible
    • activate the ads.txt function of Advanced Ads and save your settings
    • If everything works usually, you should now be able to retrieve the file created by Advanced Ads under your ads.txt path.

      Best regards,
      Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
After removing ads.txt manager plugin, ads.txt file is still showing previous data. However, I have installed and activated the ads.txt function of Advanced Ads. Can you check this from your end?
    Regards

    Hi williamjones654,

    Thanks for your reply.

That worked. Now, the file is created by Advanced Ads as you can see in the first line.

If you need to add any entries, please, add them to the ads.txt field in Advanced Ads > Settings.

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
When I debug the code through shell commands, ads.txt is still showing previous ads.txt file. How much time will it take? Is it fine?
    Regards

    Hi,

The file generated by Advanced Ads starts with # Advanced Ads ads.txt, making it simple to check if our plugin really generates it.

Previously, your ads.txt did not have this entry. Now, the entry appears there. Can you please confirm that you see this entry at the top of your file?

You reported initially that you wanted to update your ads.txt and add some new entries. Do these entries appear in the file now and if not, have you added them to the ads.txt field in Advanced Ads > Settings?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
    Thanks for your reply.
From my side it is still showing previous ads.txt. Also, when I debug through shell commands (as Google recommended this for their crawler), it is still showing old ads.txt. My website is also not showing any Ads after making changes into ads.txt.
    Regards,

    Hi,

Do you see the Advanced Ads entry appearing in the first line of the file?

If not, have you added those entries that you want to update to the ads.txt field in Advanced Ads > Settings?

Have you purged your browser cache?

    Best regards,
    Joachim
