After checking to see if AMP was compatible with Avada sites (supposedly it is), I installed it on two sites, including my own. I used the standard (non technical) settings after installing.

The immediate improvement in site speed, particularly for mobile, was great! But then I found the side effects:

On one site it disabled the Avada slider.
On the other site it disabled PayPal button code.

So I deactivated. However, I would love to know if there is a setting I can use that doesn’t cause the side effects. I would LOVE to use this on all 50 sites I maintain.

Please let me know what you need to help me troubleshoot.

    Cheers,
    Tim

    Hello @iaim2xl

Thank you for your inquiry, Avada is not fully AMP compatible, as some of its functionalities are based on javascript such as sliders, menus toggle buttons, etc. AMP pages don’t allow javascript as it can delay page rendering, so the AMP plugins will remove them for you.

I will recommend using AMP plugin with Reader Mode settings where you can choose a different theme for AMP pages.

In case your site uses a plugin that is not AMP compatible.
    1. Contact Plugin Author to make it AMP Compatible.
    2. Check for alternative plugins listed on our site.
    3. Contact AMP experts to make sites AMP compatible.

I will recommend disabling AMP on the pages where your site uses Paypal or involves transitions features

If you are new to the AMP plugin I will recommend going through our getting started guide to understand how AMP plugin works.

@iaim2xl As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
