images missing in gmail
-
I, I have a problem with gmail web page and gmail app.
When I send an email via smtp to an address with @gmail. the images are missing or broken.
I have already checked that the problem is not the mail provider, the smtp works correctly. Also, I have tried the same smtp in another domain and it works correctly with your plugin.
Can you help me to fix it in my web altaico.es?
Thank you.

Hi @altaico,
When you get a chance, could you please check by sending the test email from WP Mail SMTP > Email Test and share the email file with us? Here’s how to download emails in Gmail.
Possible reasons are:
1. your site/image URL wasn’t accessible to Gmail.
2. you have some links/clicks tracking etc. enabled with misconfiguration.
3. some other plugins in your site is creating conflict. Thanks!
ok give me an email address and i send to you the e-mail test.
It’s not the first reason because I can’t see the images in the @gmail address but only in gmail web browser and in gmail app. If I use another mail provider I can see correctly the images in @gmail mail.
About the Third option, I have already tried to activate/deactivate plugins. But it didn’t solve the problem.
Hi @altaico,
Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like the issue is due to some settings in your Gmail App, or some extension in your web browser causing the issue. Please check this instruction, try clearing your browser cache and extension.
I hope that helps!
already done but doesn’t work.
Also I have tried with different browsers and I have the same problem.
If you want give me an email address and I can share the mail file with you.
Thank you
Hi @altaico,
Please download the email you’re having an issue with and share the email file with us.
Thanks!
Hi @altaico,
thank you for the example email. If I open it with my email client I can see the images just OK (like you do in non-gmail app).
The image links are working OK in the email as well, because I can access this image in the email source code: https://www.altaico.es/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/assets/images/email/wp-mail-smtp.png
I’m not sure why the images would not show in the gmail app (and gmail browser app) for you.
Do you maybe have external images disabled in your Gmail app. More info on how to check that can be found in this Google support page.
Take care!
ok i’ll check it. thank you.
Anyway, if you have test gmail I’ll send you a sample.
Thank you
I have the external images enabled in gmail.
thank you
Hi Gregor,
email sent.
understood.
Thank you.
Hi @altaico,
yes, I don’t see your images as well.
Are you using the G-suite account or the free Gmail account to send email from your WP site?
I found this answer, which leads to a few suggestions on what could be at fault: https://support.google.com/mail/thread/71416370?hl=en
Maybe the google’s cached version of your site images is broken, try to send an email with a new image in it, to test that theory.
Also, read all the answers in the above topic (and the linked suggestions).
If you are using the G-suite account, you might also try to whitelist your domain from the google’s URL proxy (mentioned in on of the linked suggestions).
Take care!
Also, something might be blocking Google from accessing your site’s images. Are you maybe using and WP firewall plugins or a server level firewall? That might be at fault as well.
Check the server access logs for this image: https://www.altaico.es/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/assets/images/email/wp-mail-smtp.png
Take care!
I have already made several test about this topic.
First I use a smtp from a another private mail hosting. And I have tried the same configuration with the same plugin in another web that I manage and it correctly display the images.
I use a firewall and a server level firewall, but I don’t think is it because, are the same in the other web just mentioned above. Same firewall, same configuration.
Thank you.
How can I send another test mail with a different images?
I can send a newsletter just to your test account, and you can check that your images will be displayed broken. Also how can I check if the cache version of my web site is broken?
About the topic that you advice to me, I have already tried them.
Thank you.
