(Suggestion) Post Module – Search Bar

    I’m not sure if it is possible or if there is such a feature, but I could not find.

    It would be interesting having an option to enable a search bar that works along with the term filter. Perhaps within the post module header?

    Hello @krzd7 ,
    Currently there is no Search bar on Advanced Post (Type) => Header. It is possible to add I have added it on our TODO list, our team will study the usability and may add it on coming updates of Gutentor.

    Hello @krzd7 ,

    We have added Advanced Post (Type) => Post Module Header => Search, Please select Template 9 or Template 10 from Post Module Header. I believe it will work exactly like your Suggestion. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Hello,

    I have tested and it works, but I’m having a hard time trying to position the search bar/button below the filter options on desktop. Is there a way we can have an option for this? (could only find for mobile).

    Also, is there an easy/recommended way to translate the search “no results” english text?

    We have added both features according to your suggestions.

    • Added: Post Module Header Full Width Column options for desktop and tablet
    • Added: Post Module Nothing Found (Text)

    I’m just trying to understand the search criteria. I have tried a keyword for filtering the title, but for certain posts it does not seem to work. Is it using title, category or another field?

    I found the issue.

    It seems to search/filter results not by title, category or description excerpt, but the entire post HTML content. I say HTML because I found an empty href tag (leftover) from a post dupe and it was triggering the search to include this specific post as a result.

    It would be interesting being able to keep the search in a title/category/description (excerpt) context.

    Another minor issue: the Full Width Column feature does not seem to work for tablet mode (?).

    I’ve tested on my mobile/smartphone by positioning it horizontally, the term filter list and search appear side by side. Vertically, it works. Desktop works too. Config:

    Template 9
    ✔ Full Width Column (Desktop)
    ✔ Full Width Column (Tablet)
    ✔ Full Width Column (Mobile)
    ✔ Equal Column Height

    Hello @krzd7,

    I have noted the Template issue.

    Regarding Search results we are using WordPress default wp_query search parameter on gutentor_get_query,
    We may not add custom functionalities for search unless it is available by WordPress itself.

    Oh, I see.

    Do you know if there is a way I can add a custom filter or something to prevent that? Search only by title and category? I ask because I’ve noticed that even nav-links are leading unrelated posts to search results.
