I also received this error on step 3 of the compatibility setup. And I’m also on a Single User.
That makes three of us. Also single user.
Same problem with me. In my case, by mistake I had activated Buddypress Template pack before downloading Buddypress 1.2 After that I deactivated/ deleted Template pack and then install again. But it gives the same error after re-install & after loading Buddypress 1.2 ( which too is not getting activated).
Any luck with the BuddyPress Template Pack?

I’ve got this same error. Deleted the buddypress folder out of plugins folder – no change. Anybody got a suggestion?
