I just checked the site on a remote iPad and I see everything loading properly (screenshot). Is there a chance the iPad was connected to a slow network? It did take a couple of seconds for me to see the Featured Image when viewing an individual post page. You might also want to try clearing the browser cache on the iPad and checking again. That could be an issue specifically if you viewed the site on your iPad before the lazy loading script from Jetpack was added.
Thanks Ben – perhaps it was because I was using devices controlled by my work, meaning they’re responsible for clearing the cache. I have to say, the lazy load doesn’t seem to have had a huge impact on load time – sometimes it seems to “stick” on pictures, in fact.
Okay that could make sense. I think the issue may have been local to the device/network since I couldn’t recreate it, but please let me know if you see this again on another device.
