• I recently ported a blog from wordpress.com so that I could take advantage of the advanced capabilities of hosting my own site. However, I discovered that one widget I used quite a bit at wordpress.com doesn’t seem to be included with WordPress 2.9.2. I am searching for the “blog subscriptions” widget that allows users to sign up with their e-mail addresses. I feel like I must be missing something huge, as I figured a widget included with wordpress.com ought to be easy to find, but I’m sifting through hundreds upon hundreds of widgets and not coming across the official one. Does it not exist for an individual wordpress installation? If no, can someons suggest an adequate substitute? There seem to be dozens…

  • I have this same problem. I am on GoDaddy hosting. But the blog subscription widget is not on the list of choices. Can anyone tell us what is going on and how to get this capability on our blog?

    The “Blog Subscription Widget” only appears for blogs actually hosted by WordPress. Don’t ask me why.

    There’s a small problem with the managing of suscriptions, but the forum author’s website explains how to fix it.
