[Plugin: Members List Plugin] Javascript Error

The issue that I’m having is with WP 2.9.2 and a theme called WhiteHousePro. The javascript error only appears to happen on the front page. The error, however, disables some functionality of the theme.

Here’s the error:

Message: Object doesn’t support this property or method

Code: 0

Which is this line: 19 $(‘#query’).bind(‘focus’,function (){.

Again, this error doesn’t appear on any other pages. The plugin appears to work just fine.

Please let me know if you have any ideas. I love the plugin and I cannot find a decent enough alternative. However, the error is disabling a feature of the website that would be quite useful.
