• Using WordPress 5.6. Just installed Mammoth .Docx plug-in.
Choosing .docx doc to import works fine. But once document is uploaded, clicking the Insert into editor button does nothing. Help!

    Thanks.

So, even though I could not get the Insert into editor button to work. It actually worked to copy the content from the Mammoth .DOCX window and paste it into the WordPress window. And the content came out looking fine in Preview except for some fixing of title styles that needed to be done. It even looked to be in Gutenburg blocks. Did this actually work? Should I be looking at anything to be sure it did?

As you can tell I’m very new at this. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

If you try using a simple Word document just containing a sentence of text, do you get the same problem? If not, could you provide an example document?

What browser and operating system are you using?

Do you see any messages appear in the Messages tab?

If you open up the developer tools using F12, do you see any errors in the Console?

So, I uploaded a short test .docx and got a Warning: Unrecognized paragraph style: ‘Title’ (Style ID: Title). I uploaded another test document and made sure that I didn’t format anything as Title. however I formatted H1, H2, and bullets.
I’m on Windows 10 Home, using Google Chrome. I also tested on Firefox and had the same problem.
Opened developer tools and found this message in the console:
    deprecated.min.js?ver=7eeae75ecca445767bf663bbc025ee2e:2 wp.data.dispatch( 'core/editor' ).insertBlocks is deprecated. Please use wp.data.dispatch( 'core/block-editor' ).insertBlocks instead.

Seems important… (ps thanks for your help!)

Just to check: when you uploaded the test documents, they still failed to insert into the editor when you hit the button? And after you’d hit the button and the content didn’t appear in the editor, there weren’t any additional messages in the Mammoth UI nor the console other than the ones you’ve already mentioned?

Also, do still have issues when running with the default theme and no other plugins running?

So, when I uploaded the document that got no errors in the Mamoth UI and clicked the Insert into editor button that did not work, I received the error in the Console.

I don’t know how to run in default theme with no other plug ins running. And since we’re in the midst of building our new website, I hesitate to even try something like that.

My goal (and job at the moment) is to figure out how to use Mammoth…

I could, perhaps, ask for a list of plug-ins that we’ve got installed.

I’ve just tried using Mammoth with the latest version of WordPress, and it seems to be working fine. Issues are normally caused by interactions between Mammoth and other plugins or themes. Unfortunately, this is just a spare time project for me, so I can’t afford to spend time checking compatibility with lists of plugins.
