• Hello, I downloaded Local by Flywheel (as advised by a Lynda video) today and had to use the LocalHost Router-Mode to get it to work. I tried turning off the Windows IIS, and Site Domains Router-Mode still didn’t work. I also found something in PID3900 listening to Port 80 called mqsvc, but I did an internet search about that and it looked way too important to turn off, so I left that on.

Anyways, in this Localy by Flywheel local-host mode it does not support SSL or https.
Does the Router-Mode in which we develop our WordPress site matter at all once we launch our site through whichever webhost we choose eventually? For example I have my domain names currently with Dreamhost and looks like they support WordPress quite a bit. But will having a LocalHost Router-Mode going mess things up in the real world? Or once I somehow design and then launch my website to Dreamhost, will they automatically change it to be all https and secure?

I plan on making an e-commerce site with 3D model viewing (found at least a couple WordPress plug-ins that say they can do that).

    Thanks for any help!

  • You may wait and hope and pray that someone here may be familiar enough with “Local by Flywheel” and answer your question…

But I’m thinking you have a better chance of getting a quicker and better response if you were to post this question to the tool’s developers. They have an active community support forum here: https://localwp.com/community/

    Good luck!

WordPress will run as localhost on IIS if PHP and MySQL are installed. Have you tried that?
