• I have automatically upgraded wordpress to 2.9.2 with success, however, i am having problems with the dashboard. It loads momentarily, before becoming completely blank… ??
The browser shows the dashboard is still loading, however, tells me it is “done” in the status bar in the bottom left corner of the browser window.
I can access the theme editor and other parts of the wordpress backend by simply adding the correct extension eg. …/wp-admin/theme-editor.php etc. and all works fine.
The only problem is with a blank dashboard page directly after login.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

Thanks for your reply but none of the above work.
The blog itself works fine… the problem is with the wordpress backend. Does switching themes effect this?
I have noticed that each time i log into the dashboard my antivirus blocks a site called news.hermison.com…

I have the same problem with another site a updated to wordpress 2.9.2: the dashboard shows blank but all other post and page editing pages work fine. same virus message blocking website news.hermison.com

    I’m having a similar problem.

my 2.7 dashboard wasn’t working properly – it all appeared in simple text – so I upgraded to 2.8.2. buti realised half way through that I hadn’t backed up – so I clicked away.. now i try and get in and starts loading, but then the page goes blank.. Not sure what to do??? Any ideas appreciated..

@timicom: Don’t highjack another poster’s thread. Post a new topic.

i just tried checking news.hermison.com – and my virus scanner told my it linked to a Trojan.

i suspect your problem is not related to WordPress.

    hth.

I had the same problem, to solve it i had to disable the Yoast breadcrumbs plugin.
