cant install redis

i tried to install redis cache after installing redis on my server but when i clicked on install now it requests for ftp credentials and no matter what i put in the hostname its always giving me an error. if i put my domain name as hostname it says Failed to connect to FTP Server. and if i put my ip address it says password/username not correct but when i try on a different wordpress installation that has no redis on the server it gets installed
