I am migrating a site to another host as I have done with several others. I backup with wpvivid, change the url to the new host and restore.

One site eludes me though. Three times I have tried but each time it refuses to accept the upload – saying “invalid architecture must be a backup created by wpvivid. Same versions same wp version (though it is 5.6).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @patbell101

I suppose it’s a ‘Invalid archive structure’ error, right?

If it is. Then the error occurs usually because the backups were broken in the backup process(mostly because of insufficient disk spaces). Please try to unzip the backups in your local computer and see if they are broken.

If they can be successfully unzipped, please upload them via FTP client to the target site (by default to the /wp-content/wpvividbackups folder) then click the ‘Scan uploaded backups and received backups’ button to display them in the backup list.

If they can not be unzipped, please create a new backup to upload. Before that, please free up the disk space of the source site.

In general, in order to successfully back up a site, the amount of free disk space on the web server needs to be twice the size of the website.

    All the best,

    Yes

Nope, they all unzip and their internal zip files too

couldn’t do it. ftp kept disocnnecting in filezilla (yes I did increase time out) and the file was too big for my hosts filemanager at 1.3gb

40gb free with a 2gb site 95gb free on new server

I think there’s a problem with how you are breaking down whatever goes in that first file.001 I have given up after two days with wpvivid and used Updraft Plus which worked in seconds.

I do favour wpvivid and would like it to work. If you want me to send you the backup for examination I can do so.

    Hi @patbell101

Thanks for the update. We got two questions,

Did you manually zip WPvivid backups or change the file names before uploading them?

And what was the value of the option ‘Compress Files Every’ in WPvivid Advanced Settings when you took the backups?

    Thanks,

    All the best,

    No I changed nothing.

compress every… Not an option I was aware of but will look it out next time I have a huge file. Its migrated now anyway.

    Thanks for the update @patbell101

You can set the ‘Compress Files Every’ to 100 or 200 MB in WPvivid Advanced Settings to decrease the chances of timeout and corruption when downloading and uploading files.

Please let us know if have any issues using our plugin in the future.

    All the best,
