Video link appears in post excerpt

    Hi.

    I’ve encountered an odd issue on a WP site I’m working on. We have various posts with videos embedded within, sometimes they’re the first thing on the page. We also have a directory where all posts and associated excerpts are located. On that page, the article excerpts usually looked like this:

    Post Title/Link
Post Excerpt

    Recently, though, adding new posts with videos looks like this on the excerpts page:

    Post Title/Link
https://youtube.com/watch=v?ekfjdl Post Excerpt

    Any suggestions as to what may be causing this issue? No recent updates have been made to the site to my knowledge.

    That’s to be expected. The excerpt type not only shortens your post, it also strips out all HTML, making it text-only.

    Thank you for your response, but the problem is it never used to do that. It just decided to start doing that recently. We always used to be able to have a video on the top of the page and the link never showed up in our excerpts.

    That can also be controlled by the theme. Did you recently change your theme?

    What is the name of the theme you’re using now?
