Selectively insert gallery

    i have 36 images uploaded on a post. i’ve selected five to appear full frame inside my post. is there a way to selectively picked others inserting them as a gallery ? right now for me it is all or nothing.

    Not that I’m aware of. One option is to follow the route suggested by this post.

    close but no cigar, maybe. i uploaded six images outside of the post per the instructions on the link. then selected those images from the media library. but there is no option to insert the selected images as a gallery.

    I think you did it the wrong way around. You need to upload every image except the ones that you want in the gallery via the Media Library and just upload your “gallery images” via the Add Media option in the Edit Post page.

    now that i have the hang of it… i plan on what photos will go in the photo gallery, upload those images and then insert gallery. after that i upload / insert the images i wish to be full size / not in gallery.
