Redis support

Hi to all.

Among the various cache plugins, this is in my opinion the best, simple in configuration and very performing.

I would like to add support for redis, to install the plugin on some site that offers this technology.

Before proceeding, I wanted a couple of general information.

Can I modify the code and then use it? Can I fork the project and upload it as a new plugin on wordpress? Can I make the changes and then turn them around to integrate them into the main code? If so, how?
