subscriber login options ??

Dear All

I’m almost ready to release a new site and would like subscribers to be able to login, add comments and upload an avatar.

However, all the solutions I’ve see so far give subscribers access to the wp-admin area where they can update their profile, change passwords, upload/specify an avatar etc…

I’d like to keep everyone out of here and have this functionality in the main site using the selected theme.

Is this possible either with a free or premium plugin ?

I’ve looked at several of the free user login plugins and none really work particularly well.

Does such a thing exist ?
