    Hi
Getting an ‘error occurred’ message when clicking ‘pay now’

Currently I have the plugin set to ‘payapl test mode’ and am using paypal sandbox client Id and sandbox secret key to test the buy process. I tried turning off ‘paypal test mode’ in the plugin to see if it runs on the sandbox api’s only but that’s not working either?

Should I use the normal client id and secret key and keep the plugin set to ‘paypal test mode’? Trying to figure out the best way to check the whole buying process in safe environment.

    Thanks.

    Hi @adashi9

For PayPal test mode and Live mode credentials will be different. So, if you are switching the mode you need to change the credentials too.

And regarding “error occurred” issue can you please confirm 2 steps? Have you add the correct currency code from plugin general settings? You can check this from here.

Also, can you check if this “Change PDF Save Option” is enable or not? If not enabled you can change and check this should work after change.

    Hi
Thanks for the reply. The currency code is set to ‘GBP’ and change PDF option is ‘enabled’

I have tried various scenarios re the paypal testmode. Currently set to ‘test mode’ on the plugin and sandbox client id and secret key which is giving ‘error occured’ message. Are you saying I need to have regular paypal api keys set to plugin test mode? Please confirm correct testing mode.
    Many Thanks

    Hi @adashi9

The currency code is proper. And regarding credential I am saying that the credentials for Live mode and Test mode will be different. You can check your credentials from PayPal account.

If the credentials are correct then can you please check “allow_url_fopen” is enabled or not? You can check this with your hosting provider. They can help you.

Let us know if still not working.

    Hi

I have sent a reply to this in the members chat area too with page links.

    Yes “allow_url_fopen” already enabled.
Plugin is no longer on test mode and am using live client Id and secret key. Error still occurs.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hi @adashi9

Okay then can you please enable debug log from wp-config.php file. You can check this article to enable log. After enabling this you can see the log from wp-content folder debug.log file you can share logs. So, we can check and help you.
