Override “automatically close comments?”

Hi all,

I have comments set to close automatically after 60 days, but I want to keep comments open longer on a particular post. Is there a way to do that? It seems as though WP should be un-setting “allow comments” on the post when the deadline passes but instead the automatic closure setting seems to be applied dynamically, regardless of the “allow comments” setting. Am I missing anything?
