• I’m using User Role Editor to restrict permissions for editor users. I recently added NextGEN Gallery and wanted to enable it for editors to use. I checked all nextGEN values under the All listing:

    NextGEN Attach Interface
    NextGEN Change options
    NextGEN Change style
    NextGEN Edit album
    NextGEN Gallery overview
    NextGEN Manage gallery
    NextGEN Manage others gallery
    NextGEN Manage tags
    NextGEN Upload images
    NextGEN Use TinyMCE

When I update, I see the boxes still checked, so it seems like everything is fine.

    The problem:
If I select another role and then switch back to Editor, all those checkboxes are unchecked again. No matter how many times I repeat the process, or if I enable them for all user roles, the same thing happens as soon as I switch off the user role and come back. I don’t see any browser console errors.

It does seem to save the permissions properly, because if I view them per-user I can see the nextGEN values set. But if I wanted to revoke the permissions later on, I don’t see how I would be able to do that since the checkboxes are unchecked when I go back to the settings page. It’s been a long time since I made any changes to this plugin, so I apologize if this is expected behavior.

    Thanks!

  • Same here! I save the permissions, the ‘change permissions’ box (or whatever it says) comes up, I click okay, and all looks good. But if I go to another role, and come back, the saved boxes are unchecked.

Within NextGEN itself are options for setting roles, which I do have set — the same way I’m trying to do it in User Role Editor. But this plugin seems to be conflicting with that, because users cannot access NextGEN in the way they’re supposed to be able to.

    HELP!

Thank you very much for this bug report. Plugin returned NextGen user capabilities via AJAX as it is without escaping spaces inside as it does when builds “User Role Editor” page initial view. I fixed the bug. You can try the development version 4.57.1.
