    Hi,

We enabled W3 Total Cache on our site, but we have run into some issues. The site is no longer displaying as it should (missing items, etc) when viewing from different browsers, computers as well as on mobiles.

I have tried clearing all caches via W3TC but it makes no difference, the site is still missing a logo and other items from the page.

We were hoping to speed up our site with this, but now after just launched the new site, we have disastrous issues.

How do I get this resolved? Would really appreciate help with this.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

    Hello @onlineopvoedhulp

I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
Does the issue persist if you disable W3 Total Cache?
Can you please share some screenshots of what is missing and where exactly?
Which settings do you have enabled in Performance>General settings?
    Thanks!

I have removed all cache and disabled the plugin for now. Sit is looking fine now, but I would love to make use of this plugin to improve site speed etc.

Do you have some predefined basic configurations/settings which we can use to start and then slowly move to the next level etc.

Would be great if the plugin had a few predefined choices to make it a bit easier for the non-experts in caching 😉

    Hello @onlineopvoedhulp

    Thank you for the information.
There are no predefined basic configurations/settings. The optimal W3 Total Cache configuration takes into account a number of factors: your theme, your plugins, the technologies available on the server. Since everyone’s site and traffic and theme is different, there is no one size fits all solution.
First, make sure you are not using any other caching solution as it may cause conflict. I can see that you are using Autoptimize, and you need to make sure that you are not using W3TC minify option in this case.
Re-install the plugin, disable all settings in Performance>General settings, save all settings, and purge the cache. Check your website for any issues.
Next, enable Page cache and repeat saving and purging. Again check your website. If everything is ok, Next enable Browser Cache, and configure the headers in Performance>Browser Cache. Again save ll settings and purge the cache and check the website.
One more important thing is to make sure that lazyloading is disabled in W3 Total Cache if you are using any other image optimization plugin with that feature enabled.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks!

Okay, I have disabled both Autoptimize as well as Async JavaScript, only Smush is still running.
I have not removed the W3TC plugin yet, it has only been deactivated. Should I remove and re-install it again?
Are there any changes I should make in the Page Cache or Browser Cache configs or not? How do I get these back to original default settings?
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

    Hello @onlineopvoedhulp

You did not have to disable Autoptimize. Only if you are planning to use W3TC minify.
You can reset to default settings in Performance >general settings, bottom of the page. And start over.
You should change the settings within each feature accordingly depending on what you want to accomplish.
    Thanks

How do I set the Browser Cache settings back to default? Or could you give me the most basic settings which I could set in Browser Cache? Really appreciate your help.

    Hello @onlineopvoedhulp

YOu can simply go to Performance>Browser Cache>General and disable all settings there. this will disable the setting in the other sub-boxes like for JS&CSS. As you can see you can enable the settings globally or specifically. Meaning you can enable Exl=pires header for JS&CSS files, but you can disable it for HTML&XML
Please check more details in our documentation.
    Thanks!

Okay, I have configured W3TC now and removed all other plugins, even Autoptimize. Also enabled Minification in W3TC. However, I have two problems.
    1) When I enable JS minify under Minify page (combine, or combine&minify) then the site logo does not shrink as it should on scrolling down. It remains large.
    2) We have a Covid-19 pop-up, which has now stopped working… Not sure which part would be causing that.

    Hello @onlineopvoedhulp

    Thank you for the information.
Can you please disable minify in Perfirmance>General settings, save all settings and purge the cache and see if the issue persists?
If the issue is gone, re-enable minify, and disable the settings in Performance>minify one by one (HTML minify, JS minify, CSS minify) and see which one might be causing the issue.
Make sure to save all settings and purge the cache after each option is disabled.
    Thanks!

    Hi Marko,

The one causing these issues is JS minify.

    Thanks
