[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Deactivate gallery page link does nothing

My gallery works fine if I check the Deactivate gallery page link in the Options menu. But if I uncheck it, all the Album page does is refresh… No shutter viewer, no galleries, nothing. Just the Album page showing the gallery thumbnails. Anyone have any ideas what I may be doing wrong?
