Looking to start a hike database

I’m not even sure if WordPress is the route to go but we have a club and are interested in starting a hike database that would be web accessible and if you had the permissions web editable. At a bare minimum I would like to have a template page with defined fields (title, length, difficulty, GPS log file, Google Earth Route file, topo pdf, etc…) of different types (text, number, files, and maybe pictures) for people to enter as information is collected. At some point it would be nice to add a search feature by area, length, etc…

Is this something WordPress, maybe through plugins can do without tremendous effort. Should I be looking at something else? I thought maybe using a wiki but that’s probably not setup for searching and outputting a table of results (ideally with a google map of trail heads).
