MaxMind GeoIP database in Woocommerce Status not found!

    Hi

    I searched for “MaxMind GeoIP database” in “Woocommerce” Status but unfortunately I didn’t find it.
    The main problem is the IP address doesn’t detect “EGP” as my default currency because I’m from Egypt but the system chose USD ($)!, I’m using “AliDropship Woo Plugin” and activated 5 currencies (AUD,CAD,EGP,EURO and USD).

    I’ve already activated MaxMind integration and chose Geolocate in Default Customer location.

    By the way I deactivated all plugins and themes but I didn’t find “MaxMind GeoIP database” in “Woocommerce” Status!

    Kindly I need help with “MaxMind GeoIP database” to detect the right currency based on customer IP location.

    Hi Mina,

    MaxMind doesn’t detect currency – it only detects location based on IP address for use on the cart/checkout pages. Of course, it’s entirely possible for *other* plugins to *also* use MaxMind to do currency changes but it would be up to the developers of those plugins to take a closer look if currency changes aren’t taking place as expected.

    The only thing, from a WooCommerce perspective, is to make sure that MaxMind is configured correctly. For more information on that, have a look at the following guide: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/maxmind-geolocation-integration/

    Thanks for your reply and help, I really appreciate it.
    I already did previously what you adviced
    Also I received an automated email from wordpress telling me that this problem is with Alidropship woo plugin

    But why I don’t see MaxMind GeoIP database in WooCommerce status section to check it?

    The Maxmind database check was removed from the Database section in v3.9

    Also I received an automated email from wordpress telling me that this problem is with Alidropship woo plugin

    Have you reached out to Alidrop, to look into this further?
