Duplicator Migrate or Copy?

    Hi,

    I have created a WP site on localhost. Want to install it to a new WP site that exists but is mostly empty. Should I use the Overwrite Migration method? Will the site still exist on my localhost also?

    Hey @engine44,

    The free version of the plugin does not support overwrites, unless you manually extract the archive yourself. In this case, if the site is empty you can proceed, however, if there is any information on the site you might need, then it’s best to back it up first before you proceed to install the new package.

    Thank you. I tried to do the manual extraction method following your online instructions ( How do I do a ‘Manual Extraction’ or run installer without Zip enabled?). I created a new empty folder (Migrate) in the new site file structure and loaded the archive.zip and installer files. I extracted the archive.zip successfully. When I tried to run the installer.php file, I couldn’t. In the browser, I added the installer.php to the url after the site name (http://58595153.swh.strato-hosting.eu/WordPress_SecureMode_02/installer.php). Hitting return, I got “page not found”. Then I changed the path to include the folder name (http://58595153.swh.strato-hosting.eu/WordPress_SecureMode_02/migrate/installer.php. I still got the “page not found” error. The path must be wrong or I missed something else. Thanks.
