Buh.. seriously… Can noone guess whats wrong with the gallery that everybody seems to be thinking is working just fine. I’ve been asking this question for a month now and ive got no answer from anyone…
Alan
I am a bit confused. You say you added tag [nggallery id=1], but is that added as a shortcode in the body of the page, or as a WordPress tag? It should be a shortcode.
I had the same problem. WP puts that tag into the page body presumably to trigger something. All you see is the tag itself displayed instead of the gallery.

Did you put the shortcode in a PAGE, not a POST? Also, be sure that there are no spaces between the opening bracket and nggallery, or between the id number and the closing bracket.
Can you post a link to your site where we can see the page in question?
By shortcode you mean visible in the WordPress text editor for a particular page right?
here is a URL:

I loaded your theme in my test site and the gallery works fine.
I know I am being a little overbearing, but please be sure you are putting the shortcode in a page, not a post.
Perhaps you have a plugin that is interfering. Try deactivating all plugins except NextGEN and see if it works. If that fails, deactivate and reactivate NextGEN.

I have the same problem since I updated to 1.4.3 this afternoon, the NextGen code is not transforme by WordPress. I tested both with default theme and the current one, desactivated all extension except NextGen Gallery, and still don’t work.
As I did an automatic update, is there something I can do to be sure that all is right ?
Ladies and Gentlemen we have a winner.
Google Map!!! I turned it off and nextGen went from a naked tag to a gallery.
Let the code wars begin.
Thanks for your help. I can do without the Google map.

Good News! Thanks for sharing the fix.
Bingo… Thank you for posting. Too bad I need Google Map for Post Event. I’ll have a look at it and let you know.
@zayatzz, it will help others searching for this fix if you use the dropdown at top right to mark this topic ‘Resolved’.
