Cannot migrate Joomla to WP

    I tried both of the methods mentioned in your help articles and neither can connect to the Joomla data and complete the import.
    I see this happened before in this request:

    I get a fail on both the Joomla remote user and after exporting the Joomla db and importing it into WP.
    I am using my working WP credentials and still the test connection fails and the import will not start.

    Please check that the Joomla tables are well imported in the same database as WordPress.
    Please also check the login, password, database and prefix of these tables.

    If the database connection still doesn’t work, which error message do you get in the logs?

    I was able to determine the issue with the local tables not importing – I had to add my user (again) to the database with full permissions. Then the Joomla tables imported using the tool. Now, I need to import the media as that still did not pull over. It looks like I will have to do this manually unless there is a step I missed?

    I’m glad that your connection issue is solved.

    To import the media, you just need to put the URL of the live Joomla site in the URL field.
    Please note that the featured images can only be imported with the Premium version.

    That is an issue then. I have the URL of the live site where I am instructed to place it. None of the media imported and there is nothing in the error log that tells me what is wrong. As this is a small site, I may just proceed with doing this manually.

    What is the URL of the Joomla site?
    And what did you put in the URL field?

    You may also have to increase the media timeout if you have big files to transfer.
