Redirect 301 weird reaction..

Hi,

situation as follows.

Website is made with another cms, url structure was http://www.mydomain.com/?welcome

Site is +10 years online so seo / google results are really ok.

So, all pages will be gone soon (index.php will no longer point to the old site but of course to new WP version).

I thought to resolve this by:
# Permanent URL redirect – generated by http://www.rapidtables.com
Redirect 301 /this-url-is-gone/ https://dotcommedia.be/contact/

we want to point every single existing page with /?xxx to a new wordpress url

however, above code uploaded via htaccess breaks all links on the website, only homepage works. check dotcommedia.be

Any clues? Thx

The new site will stay in the same URL/domain?

Now, If the site is in another URL, instead of this:

Redirect 301 /this-url-is-gone/ https://dotcommedia.be/contact/

I suggest to try this:
```
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(www\.)?this-url-is-gone.com$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.dotcommedia.be/contact/$1 [L,R]
```

I found an online generator, it works very good!

One of my ‘old’ pages, however is not redirecting correctly! It had a special character (seems a non breaking space, but this is how google indexed it..) some stupid error in the old website..) and now it can’t find the new page…

This is in htaccess:
# 301 — https://www.sds-electronics.be/?Tv_Vlaanderen%26nbsp%3B => https://sds-electronics.be/?Satellietsystemen/TV-Vlaanderen

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.sds-electronics\.be$
RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} (^|&)Tv_Vlaanderen%26nbsp%3B($|&)
RewriteRule ^$ https://sds-electronics.be/?Satellietsystemen/TV-Vlaanderen [L,R=301]

But it redirects to: https://sds-electronics.be/?Tv_Vlaanderen instead of https://sds-electronics.be/?Satellietsystemen/TV-Vlaanderen

Seems it has to do with the %26nbsp%3B??

old site is https://www.sds-electronics.be/sds-before-2021
new is on the ‘root’ of course.
