Hello @deeveearr
Thank you for your message.
The module is renamed to Analytics.
No feature is removed, in fact, we added more features in this update.
Can you please tell us what are you finding that is missing from the plugin?
We are here to clarify.
Quite clear actually.
In the old versions of the plugin (which have now been altered to NOT have the Search Console feature) as I tried doing a simple ‘rollback’ to retreive it, and ended up having to go back to a different website that still has the old version on it, I grabbed the following screenshots:
Screenshot 1
and
Screenshot 2
…which show the old Search Console tab, and the old Search Console display.
If ‘nothing that was functional in the free version will ever be restricted’ – Rank Math’s words, not mine – then why has the search console now been removed from all versions of the plugin even on a rollback?
So ok, let’s go over to the new ‘analytics’ tab.
A nightmare to navigate with the majority of the ‘results’ showing zero, apart from 311 pages having ‘no data’ on them.
What’s all that about then?
Plus there are the upsells on ALL pages within the analytics tab, with no content on them apart from a ‘coming in the fall’ banner.
This is a blunder approaching the likes of Yoast’s embedded timestamp, and whereas not quite as bad as that one, a blunder nevertheless.
The sooner that the ‘Search Console’ tab makes a return, which was glorious in it’s simplicity, the better IMHO
Hello @deeveearr
Appreciate your concern.
The Analytics module might not be returning any value because we have hit the allowed API limit due to sheer number of users using the latest version. π
Google allows applying for an increase in the quota limit only when someone hits at least an 80% API limit, which happened after we released the final version and everyone started to mass-import their data.
With that said, we have applied for an increase in the quota limit and as soon as that happens, the Google Analytics part will start working again.
All the search console data, along with many other filters we added, have moved to the Analytics tab. All your console data will be available there along with the Analytics data.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Thank you.
So that’s yet another blunder then?
Or at the least a lack of foresight?
How on earth you expect any user to upgrade to a pro version of a plugin that needs a new api limit every time they import their data?
The search console figures are unrecognisable in their present form, and the sooner that Rank Math realise that they’re NOT google analytics, or monster-insights, or analytify, and stop messing up a perfectly decent plugin by making complicated new rules and insights that are neither use nor ornament to anyone, the better.
I’ll have the old search console tab back please, and leave the analytics tab to the pro users.
Hello @deeveearr
As mentioned above, please read this:
Google allows applying for an increase in the quota limit only when someone hits at least an 80% API limit.
For the Pro users (whenever that is launched), the limit will increase exponentially as most of them will be upgrading from the free version.
As far as reverting back to the old design is concerned, we will see if we get too many requests for that.
So far, everyone is appreciating the new look.
Thank you.
I’m not saying to revert back to the old design, I’m just saying to bring back the Search Console tab, and leave the Analytics tab to be used in the Pro version.
Makes far more sense than creating a mish-mash of features, most of which will require a Pro upgrade to use.
Hello @deeveearr
The new design is tightly tied up to Google Search Console, Google Analytics & Rank Math’s SEO scoring system.
Taking things out is very time-consuming and we won’t be able to engage into that at this time.
As of now, we are recieving no complaints about the new design. You can check our Facebook group, forums and Twitter.
In the future, we might make the changes depending upon the feedback we get from the users.
Hope that helps. If there’s anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
Thank you.
No problem, looks like the search for an SEO plugin continues then.
Turned off the non-working up-sell analytics tab for now until I find a decent SEO replacement.
Hello,
Sorry to hear that.
Once the Analytics app is approved for a higher limit data fetch, we will let you know.
Thank you.
@deeveearr, if you find a good replacement for the plugin let us know. I was happy with the simple SEO features in this one and the search console tab, but the plugin just became a lot less functional.
Hi @dansorgel
Yes, looking at the screenshot supplied by Rank Math in your thread, it looks bloody horrible, doesn’t it?
The old search console tab was much better, plus there were no up-sells on it.
The only good replacement is Yoast, but they too have blundered by adding an embedded timestamp in all of their pages, so without going back a few versions, I cannot recommend that one either.
I’ve gotten around the screenshot in your thread by disabling the whole analytics tab, but there again I’m only using four modules now, meaning that all of these extra modules are just excess baggage.
The search begins after breakfast π
Hi @deeveearr,
I’ve just gotten a very nice response from the support team. The way they explained it over in the other thread it sounds to me like the search console functionality will return when Google increases this API limit and the data will be shown again. I’ll wait for that moment and see! π
Just looks like a load of meaningless blue bars, and an up-sell to get your keywords to me…
