New orders, when stock is zero and backorders are not allowed

Hi,

We have a store running with some variable products but when some variations are out of stock we ‘sometimes’ still get a new order. Backorders is also set to ‘not allowed’.

How would this be possible?

I have found a issue on Github (https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/25518) but in our case the order was placed by a customer through the frontend.

Thanks for reaching out.

Yeah, this behavior seems quite odd as I’ve never seen a customer having been able to place an order from the front end on a product that’s Out of Stock or where backorders aren’t allowed unless it’s being caused by a theme or plugin conflict.

Would you mind sending us a screenshot of your product settings from both the Inventory tab and from the Variation tab? You can use https://snipboard.io/ to send screenshots here. You’ll just drag and drop the image into the window, and it will generate a URL to paste here.

Also, would you mind copying and pasting your System Status Report into this thread so that I can check for any red flags there? You can find this by going to WooCommerce > Status > System Status > Get System Report in your WP-Admin dashboard.

This sounds like it could be a code conflict on your site that causes it. To test, please follow the instruction in this link: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-self-service-guide/
