Not really… from which version do you upgrade ?
I am having the exactly same problem. I am using WP 2.9.2 and, exactly as described above, it happened to me after upgrading to NextGen 1.5.0.
I found this other post telling me to deactivate and activate it, or looking for $dbversion in a .php file and changing the version number, I tried all this stuff but nothing changes.
I just don’t have any more access to the NextGen gallery, I am stuck with this neverending “Upgrade database structure”.
I would be very grateful if anyone could help me over here. Alex?
Thanks
Well, I found a great solution, downgrade back to NextGen version 1.4.3 and thinking 100 times before doing a new upgrade…
I hope this will help somenone with the same situation.
From which version do you upgrade ?
I am using WordPress 2.9.2 and upgraded from Nextgen Gallery 1.4.3 to 1.5.0 – Well, I tried to but I could never complete the upgrade just as described above…
Any clue?
Thanks…
I am also using 2.9.2 and never upgraded, but did a fresh install of NextGen Gallery 1.5.2. Once I upgrade, I get the same message as if nothing happened.
Below is the message I receive:
Upgrade NextGEN Gallery
The script detect that you upgrade from a older version. Your database tables for NextGEN Gallery is out-of-date, and must be upgraded before you can continue. If you would like to downgrade later, please make first a complete backup of your database and the images.
The upgrade process may take a while, so please be patient.
Start upgrade now…
I am having a similar problem on a WorePress 2.9.2 installation. It’s a new installation, so I haven’t had NextGen installed before. When I try to install, WP tells me there was a fatal error, but the Gallery header appears in my sidebar. However, when I try to use NextGen, I get the same message about upgrading that everyone else does. If I update, it says update was successful but then returns to the message saying it needs to upgrade.
