    Hello NextGEN Gallery support.

I have on a localhost installed WordPress version 5.5.1 and NextGEN Gallery version 3.3.17. My theme is ZeroGravity version 1.9.7.

My operating system is Windows 10 Pro, and my browser is the latest Firefox browser.

My WordPress site is on a WAMP server, and will be uploaded to a webhotel later.

My gallerys are NEXTGEN BASIC THUMBNAIL GALLERYS.

    The thumbnail pictures are ok.

When i click on a thumbnail an enlarged picture is displayed. My pictures are 320 pixles wide, but are displayed smaller on the screen.

When I change the dimensions of the pictures to be 600 pixles wide, and make a new gallery, the enlarged pictures are still displayed in the same size, as the were when they were 320 pixels wide.

How do I make the displayed images larger? Will it help me, if I buy the Plus version of the plugin?

    Hope someone can help me.

    Regards Jdahl

  • Hello @jdahl,

The issue might be the resolution you used to upload your photographs.
The resize setting in NextGEN will setup the max image size used by our Lightbox Effects.

For the best performance, we recommend resizing your images to no larger than 1920×1280. You must export your images from your photo editing software with the sRGB color profile. This will ensure that your colors keep intact after you upload your images. https://www.imagely.com/docs/image-sizes-and-resolutions/

    Hello gabyimagely.

    I uploaded a picture 320 pixels wide x 229 pixels high and resolution 72 Pixels/Inch.

I also uploaded the picture 1984 pixels wide x 1417 pixels high and resolution 72 Pixels/Inch.

Both pictures are displayed in the same small size in the gallery (Not much larger than the thumbnail)

    Hi @jdahl,

It isn’t easy to troubleshoot without having access to the site.
Is it possible for you to share a screenshot?
You can try this service https://imgur.com/

What Lightbox Effect are you currently using?
    https://www.imagely.com/docs/lightbox-effects/

Another thing you can try is to check if it is an existing conflict:
    – Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
    – Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
    – If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme. It could be a conflict with your current theme.

Note: a full website backup is encouraged before checking for conflicts.

    Hi Gaby.

I use the lightbox effect: Simplelightbox.

I have tried to disable all plugins except the Nextgen plugin, and I have changed the theme to “Twenty Fifteen”. Never the less, the images shown in the gallery are still too small.

If I buy NextGEN Plus will that resolve the issue?

    Hi Gaby.

I solved the problem. I assumed that I could add high resolution images to an existing gallery. Turns out that I have to delete the old gallery, and create a new gallery with the high resolution images. Now the images are displayed in a proper size, depending on their resolution.
