    Hello,

My host mentioned that Wordfence was slowing down my website and server due to the number of attacks being blocked. Is this accurate/normal and is there anything to do to help this?

    Thank you!

Hello @page52 and thanks for reaching out to us!

If you are being hit by a lot of requests by these attackers then you might see some performance issues. What sort of blocks are you seeing? Are they requesting certain pages? Are they being blocked by the Real-Time IP Blacklist?

You can check Tools > Live Traffic to see these blocks.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the quick response! We’re seeing brute force attacks but I’m going to suggest to the team that we block certain countries in the premium version.

The pages in realtime being requested are /xmlrpc.php and /wp-login.php

That’s not a bad idea at all. Most bots will hit the exact pages you are referring to.

For future assistance, since you have premium, I recommend you put in a ticket for faster support!

Country Blocking is a premium feature, and we aren’t allowed to discuss any of the premium features here as per forum rules.

If you have any questions regarding the premium version feel free to put in a support ticket at https://support.wordfence.com or for more information contact presales @ wordfence . com.

    Thanks!
