I am getting a Rest API error with a new install of this plugin – but I was using another anti spam plugin – WP-spamshield and I was getting a similar error. Why isn’t this plugin working with the latest version of WP?

    Hi @16ddragon

what do you get as error message? And what do you want to do while getting it?

We are not using the REST API in any way, so I don’t have any idea what could have caused this …

The plugin is working fine with the latest version of WordPress. The only broken thing is, that comments are not named correctly in the notification email, because of the changed comment_type. That’s all.

Can you reproduce the problem with all other plugins disabled a default theme and the latest WP version?

Happy to help and try to reproduce the problem if I know more how to do that.

    Here is the error message:

The REST API is one way WordPress, and other applications, communicate with the server. One example is the block editor screen, which relies on this to display, and save, your posts and pages.

The REST API request failed due to an error.
Error: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received (http_request_failed)

Yes I got this with WPspamshield too

I do not think Antispam Bee is the reason for this error. I can’t reproduce this on my install.

Can you reproduce the problem with all other plugins disabled a default theme and the latest WP version?

You wrote “Yes I got this with WPspamshield too”, but I wanted you to *disable* everything else but Antispam Bee (and enable a default theme) to see if our plugin is the culprit.

You can use the troubleshooting mode of the official Health Check plugin for this.
