    I am using a child theme applied to a theme called Themeatic.
    I have an RSS feed widget put in, thats fine.

    But I want to change the links from “_self” to “_blank” and I can’t for the life of me find the code for the RSS widget.

    Would it be in my parent theme?
    In the wordpress API?

    can anyone point me in the right direction? This is the first time working with Child themes and widgets.

    I’m pretty sure that Thematic (and it’s children) use the WordPress native RSS widget – in which case you can’t amend the code without hacking the WordPress core.
