Cannot upload pictures anymore

    Since two days I cannot upload pictures to the media library anymore. It gives me the post processing error: Post-processing of the image failed. If this is a photo or a large image, please scale it down to 2500 pixels and upload it again.

    I am in WordPress 5.5.1 and the image is very small. If I deactivate wp mail smtp or suction plugin the picture uploads just fine.
    There are no errors in the log.
    Can you help me?
