Cannot upload pictures anymore
-
Since two days I cannot upload pictures to the media library anymore. It gives me the post processing error: Post-processing of the image failed. If this is a photo or a large image, please scale it down to 2500 pixels and upload it again.
I am in WordPress 5.5.1 and the image is very small. If I deactivate wp mail smtp plugin the picture uploads just fine.
There are no errors in the log.
Can you help me?The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @tsjippy,
Thanks for reaching out. When you get a chance, could you please setup error logs and share the errors logged when uploading the file. Please also share your system information from Tools > Site Health > Info > Copy site info and paste it here.
Thanks!
Thanks for your answer.
Like I said there is no log generated in debug.log
The only thing I see is the warning “Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.”Site info:

Hi @tsjippy,
I’m glad you find out about the issue. Could you please let me know what security plugin was causing the issue?
Thanks!
Sorry typo from my side.
So this issue is solved if I either disable WP Mail SMTP of Sucuri. I don’t know why. I reset Sucuri to the defaults but that did not helpI finally sorted it out.
It turned out that I was missing an A record in Cloudflare so that mail was not working anymore. Apparently Sucure sends mail on file upload… which was not possible leading to a timeout.
Issue is resolved thanks
