• Hi,

I must be missing something obvious … but I can’t see what it is! Until recently the blog post summary page showed an excerpt of text that ended with “Read more” text at the end. However, for each of my last two posts it now shows a “Read more” button below the text.

What have I done (or not done)? And how do I fix it? 🙂

    Thanks.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

Looks like this CSS you’ve added is causing the issue:

    Removing that should solve it.

    Hi Leo,

Thank you – I see what you mean. But why isn’t it applying to all 3 posts there (the bottom one has text “Read more” but the other two have a button).

    Thanks

The last read more doesn’t have the read-more class added so the CSS doesn’t apply.

Looks like the difference is that it’s using custom excerpt metabox instead of the default excerpt with word count.

    Yes! That was it.

For some reason, I hadn’t completed the custom excerpt details for the other two posts. Now that I’ve done that the “Read more” appears at the end of the excerpt text as it does for the first post.

Thank you, Leo. Your advice is spot on, as usual 🙂

    No problem 🙂
